The Wiener Laboratory of the ASCSA is an active research department dedicated to archaeological science.

The new building will house the laboratories, in modern and up-to-date facilities, reaching the highest standards of laboratory research and ranking Wiener Lab to the best laboratories for archaeological science in Europe.

The building is situated in a verdant location in the centre of Athens (Kolonaki area), next to the main building of ASCSA and nearby the listed building of English School. The first clear objective of the project is to establish communication between dynamism, lightness and agility of the main buildings by using a specific architectural language that responds to this context with the adequate use of composition and materials.

The building consists of three floors (including basement) with a total area of 1600m2. The basement houses the main laboratory sector, the parking area (22 car spaces) and E/M installations, while at the ground floor the entrance lobby, offices and the Strewing area are situated. Finally, a library together with seminar rooms are located on the first floor.
